Support Group

Viewpointe Counseling’s licensed and highly-educated professionals bring years of experience and a wide range of specialties to the table.

Our team includes therapists who are U.S. Army veterans, fluent in Spanish, certified in substance abuse care, experienced in infant therapy and more. We match each individual to the therapist best suited to their unique situation and needs.

Each clinician holds their own private practice business within the Viewpointe Building.

Dana A. Beech LLC
LMSW - Licensed Masters of Social Work

Dana is a Clinical Licensed Master of Social Work and has been working with children and families in a variety of disciplines for over 20 years.  

 

Dana works with children, teens, and adults specializing in areas of trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Dana is also certified in EMDR Therapy 

 

She provides training to schools and agencies on the basics of trauma and the effects it has on the developing brain.

Michelle Brockington

Michelle received her degree from the University of Louisville with a specialization in Military Social Work. Michelle is a veteran of the United States Army and has experience working with individuals with PTSD. Michelle works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families in a variety of disciplines. Michelle focuses on depression, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, and anger. She is also trained in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy

 

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Lindsey Wilson College with a minor in Women's studies. She enjoys working with families of diverse cultural backgrounds. Michelle comes with experience working in crisis situations and enjoys connecting with people.

Perla Garza

Perla is bilingual in Spanish. She obtained her degree from Michigan State University and is currently a Clinical Licensed Master of Social Work. Perla works with teens, adults, and families and specializes in grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. In addition, she has experience facilitating groups for grief and loss as well as cancer support.  

Perla es bilingüe en español. Ella obtuvo su título de la Universidad de Michigan State y actualmente tiene su licencia limitada para practicar como Trabajadora Social. Perla trabaja con adolescentes, adultos y familias y se especializa en el dolor y la pérdida, la depresión y la ansiedad. Además, tiene experiencia facilitando grupos de dolor y pérdida, y apoyo para el cancer.

Chris is a Clinical Licensed Master of Social Work and has been serving children, adults, and families as a counselor for over 20 years. Chris specializes in the impacts of trauma, grief, loss, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, autism, mild cognitive impairments, and ADHD. Chris was also a school social worker for over 15 years, working in special education.

 

Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and a Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University. Chris enjoys working with children and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds within a strengths-based and systemic approach to counseling.

Candy Straubel-Sower 

Candy Straubel-Sower LLC

Candy is a Clinical Licensed Master Social Worker and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, operating in the mental health field for over 20 years.

 

Specializing in trauma recovery and substance abuse, she works extensively with a diverse population of children, adolescents, adults, foster care/adoption, and families.

 

In addition, she facilitates both group and individual therapy for all types of addictions. Candy also provides training to schools and agencies on the basics of trauma and the effects it has on the developing brain.

Megan Ledin

Megan is a Clinical Licensed Master Social Worker. She has a background in Infant Mental Health and foster care. She believes that at the base of most mental health disorders or negative behaviors is a layer of trauma and/or attachment disruptions. She also believes that trauma and attachment are areas that can be worked on as early as in utero and as late as the end of life. She is a strengths-based professional who knows her clients can meet their goals.

Alexander is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and an alum of Central Michigan University. He is fully licensed in the State of Michigan to provide mental health services and certified through the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals to provide drug and alcohol assessments for courts and driver's license reinstatement. 

 

He has a wealth of experience in treating adults with substance use disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. He is also trained in using Brain Spotting Techniques. Alex is down-to-earth and easy to get along with. He is a family man and able to see and work with people at every stage through this lens.

Samantha Goodwin LLC

Samantha earned her Master's in Social Work from the University of Kentucky and her Bachelor's in Social Work with a Minor in Youth Studies from Central Michigan University. She has spent her years of practice working with various populations and settings including; crisis response, early childhood, teens, adolescents, adults, and in special education.

 

Samantha continues to work with school-aged children, teens, adults, and families. With a focus on depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
